AI in Games
AI is anything that fools us into believing it makes decisions. In games, this ranges from a Goomba chasing Mario down, to the Director in Left for Dead, deciding where and how many enemies to spawn to ensure you, the player, move at the pace the game thinks you should.
At the University of Bolton we dive into AI as an artform, how we build agents that make decisions, and interact with our worlds in believable ways. Starting at the basics of searching, pathfinding and vision, and moving towards complex logic systems, we ensure that you leave with a core knowledge of what AI is, and how to build it into your games.
For those who take an interest, our expertise extends to creating machine learning and developing AI that can learn from experience and experiments to solve problems we ourselves have not solved. We can help you specialise into this area and ensure your passion for AI finds a home!
